An organised Christmas (yes it's possible!)

It's coming up to Christmas- you probably know this unless you've been avoiding media or running from shops playing 'Last Christmas'.

With 2 weeks to go, we just have time to get organised- it is the point of no return!

As well as the preparation, we have more social events, more to organise and generally more tasks to complete. Without making a plan, you may end up in a petrol station on Christmas eve, buying some out of date Quaity Streets.

To ensure this scenario does not come to pass, I will be focusing on 3 aspects of Christmas planning.

Christmas Presents

My first blog is a guide to Christmas presents from planning to giving. Alhough the steps are simple, the results will make you glad you took the time.

Imagine feeling prepared and calm over the next few weeks, instead of stressed and worn out.

Steps

Make a table or spreadsheet.

Name. /. Possible gifts / Budget./ Shops (online/town/ Schedule to research/buy/ Date to wrap/Date to give/post

Often, the problem is that we can't think of what to get someone. This means that we go round and ound in our heads, never gettng to the point where we make a decision.

This is often why we leave it until the last minute and end up panicking.

The trick is to work through it, taking the next step. Using this table you can follow the idea through to completion.

Starting with Aunt Sarah, thinking of 3 possible ideas- wine, bath bombs, chess set.

Once you have this basis, you can think of possible places to buy them: M&S, Lush, Chessmaze.

Make a time when you can research and buy all your presents. By blocking out a couple of hours you can just focus on buying presents This way your time isn't taken up by doing it in fits and starts.

Remember to add time for delivery.

Give yourself a rough date to give your present ie. If you will only see this person a week before Christmas, then it will need to be wrapped before then.

If you know when you'll be giving it, you can set a time to wrap it.

If you are posting your gift, the last post date is 11:00am December 20th. Bearing this in mind, you will need to get it wrapped and packaged before then to save you standing in a huge que or missing the deadline.

So there you have it, a guide to stress free present giving. With a little preparation, you can give thoughtful presents, beautifully wrapped and on time.

Unfortunately, I can't guarantee you won't get out of date Quality Streets from Uncle Bob.
